Emily Selleck is an author who lives on the internet, but whose physical form resides in Southeast Texas. She loves and lives with an amazing partner (who is also an author), two wildly creative children, a cat who acts as the family familiar, and a dog as goofy as he is sweet. Sometimes, she writes…

Note: I love gifs. They are one of my favorite things. You have been warned 😀

I’m a writer now, but (like most writers) I was a reader first. I’ve been a reader for as long as I can remember. Books were my friends before I figured out how to befriend people. And I never even considered that I could create anything like the stories I was reading until my sixth grade English teacher put the idea in my head. In the few moments of spare time I manage to carve out for myself, I watch some TV (mostly Marvel-related. They own my soul. I regret nothing.) and I like to make things with yarn. My mom taught me to crochet when I was a kid, and as an adult, I’ve taught myself how to knit and even how to spin my own yarn.  I have a really bad habit of making huge plans for projects and then leaving them half finished.

I’m a fan. I am a fan of many things, far too many to list here. And when I latch on to something, I don’t let go easily. I am an obsessive fan of good stories and have many ways of showing my love for the things I’m obsessing over. Mostly by squealing uncontrollably whenever any of these things are mentioned in any capacity.

Let’s see, what else? I’m a Ravenclaw, I occasionally enjoy the opera, I’m a ridiculous animal-lover, I have a bug phobia, and I’m afraid of heights. Anything else… well, you’ll just have to read the blog I guess.
