Once More Unto The (Writing) Breach- January 2018

Wow, so I 100% completely forgot to blog for this whole month! So…there’s that.

I mean, it’s not like I did a lot in January anyway, but…here we go.

What I’ve Accomplished This Month

WordKeeperAlpha total- 21,922

The goal for this month was 50k, but…yeah, that didn’t happen. I just had a really hard time focusing on anything at all this month. I’m already trying to play catch-up in February, but I’m trying to be kind to myself this year, even if that means I don’t meet all of my goals.

Such Stuff As Dreams (Shakespeare In Space #2)- 1,047 words written

This was a far cry from the 15k I was planning to add to this story. It’s really hard, you guys.

I’m still working on it, but I’ve decided not to push too hard. I’m just going to make myself miserable, and I don’t want to be miserable writing this series. I love it too much to be miserable while working on it. So I’m still plugging away at it, but it may take a little longer to get it out into the world than I had originally planned.

Good Intentions (an Age of Ultron fic)– 16 scenes edited (first pass)

I got about halfway through my goal for this, so I did better than I did with SSAD at least. Still not great, but better. I don’t really know what else to say here, so we’ll just move on.

The Travelogue- 3,014 words written

This is a silly little thing that I’m totally counting in my word count. It’s basically the travelogue of my character in the Pathfinder campaign my writing group is playing, and I have NO REGRETS. NONE.

What’s Coming Up in February

Okay, now that the trainwreck is over, let’s get into February! It’s actually going pretty well (better than January, anyway), so I’m setting a goal of 75,000 on my WordKeeperAlpha to try to make up for last month.

It’s not a good idea, I know this, but I just do not have the heart to set myself up for failure with this project. So, in an effort to be kind to myself, I’m taking a break, at least on this one. I’m already well on my way to making this goal, so I’m focusing most of my efforts here, trying to get it out into the world and off my conscience. It’s been such a long time coming, I’m actually tired of looking at it, it’s time for it to go.
