Once More Unto The (Writing) Breach- August 2018

How is everyone doing? I’m pretty great, I think. I made some progress last month, I have a few plans for the coming month(s). Things don’t currently suck 🙂

What I’ve Accomplished This Month

 

 

• WordKeeperAlpha total- 14,539 words

Hey, look at that! I actually exceeded my goal by almost two thousand words!

 

• Good Intentions (an Age of Ultron fic)– 5 chapters posted

We’re finally getting into the events of the movie!

• Broken Parts (a Winter Soldier fanfiction)– 6,593 words (first draft complete!)

I finished the thing!

 

I am so proud of myself right now! I’m not certain when I’m going to be able to get to the editing (I was hoping this month, but I don’t know if I’ll have enough distance from the story…). The original plan was to start posting this in November, almost immediately after Good Intentions was finished, but I don’t think I can keep to that timeline now. If I start posting in December, that’ll be okay.

• Travelogue- 2,451 words

I honestly can’t even remember what I wrote here this month. Sorry guys, I know I usually have a gif summary for you, but honestly, I can’t even remember what I wrote here this month.

 

• Dark Side Of The Dragon (Guardians Of The Galaxy fanfiction)– 495 words

I didn’t work on this too much, but that’s okay!

 

Let’s move on to what’s happening this month!

What’s Coming Up in September

 

We’re back to a more normal workload for September. The WordKeeperAlpha goal is only 35,000 words. I’m not entirely sure how I want to break that up, but here’s what I have so far.

• Good Intentions (Age of Ultron fic)- post 4 chapters

This is the last full month of posting!

I can’t believe this story is almost over. It’s bittersweet, and I’m real nervous about the reception of the ending. It’s gonna be okay. It’s gonna be okay.

 

• Dark Side of the Dragon (GotG fanfiction): 20,000 words (or until finished)

I’m trying to clear my plate in anticipation of November, and this is part of that. I’m trying to finish all of my first drafts at least, and not start any new ones (looking at YOU Doctor Strange fic!).

Wait your turn, goddamnit!

• Outline “Gilded Butterflies” (Shakespeare In Space, Book #3)- 5,000 words

I have finally decided what I’m writing for NaNo! Nevermind that I never finished Book #2 from last year…

“Gilded Butterflies” is a fun romp through the story of King Lear! In space! Lots of deceit and conniving and jealousy and death 😀

 

 

• Outline “Still Lovin’ You” (a Black Panther fic)- 5,000 words

This is the next fic in the Love and Monsters series that needs to be started (probably in December). I didn’t realize how soon I was going to be working on this (or when it was going to fall in the storyline), so it needs to be done soon-ish? I figured it’d be a good way to keep me from working on that DAMN DOCTOR STRANGE FIC (get out of my head, damn you!)

Alright, I think that takes care of it, so I’m gonna leave it alone now 🙂 See you guys next month!
